Connecting your Stripe account

To take paid registrations, your store connects its own Stripe account. You stay the merchant of record — money for your events goes straight to your account, and you enter your banking details on Stripe's secure pages, never here.

What you'll need

Have these handy before you start — Stripe will ask for them:

  • A bank account where you want payouts deposited.
  • Your business details (legal name, address). A sole proprietor / individual is fine.
  • A tax ID — an EIN for a business, or your SSN if you operate as an individual.
  • A phone number and email for verification.
  • Sometimes a photo of your ID, if Stripe needs to verify your identity.

Step by step

  1. In your dashboard, open your store and find the Payments — Stripe Connect card.
  2. Click Connect Stripe. You'll be taken to Stripe's own onboarding pages.
  3. Fill in your business, bank, and identity details on Stripe. This usually takes about 5–10 minutes.
  4. When you finish, Stripe sends you back here and your status updates automatically.

What the statuses mean

  • Payments not connected— you haven't started yet. Click Connect Stripe to begin.
  • Finish Stripe setup — you started but Stripe still needs something (often ID verification or a bank detail). Click Continue Stripe onboarding to pick up where you left off.
  • Payments ready— Stripe has everything and you can accept payments. You're done.

If you leave partway through

No problem — nothing is lost. Come back to your store dashboard any time and click Continue Stripe onboarding. The link Stripe gave you is single-use and expires, but we'll generate a fresh one automatically.

After you're connected

  • You are the merchant of record — customers' payments belong to your store.
  • Payouts to your bank follow Stripe's normal schedule (typically every couple of days once you're live).
  • You manage refunds, payouts, and disputes from your own Stripe dashboard.
  • Card details are only ever entered on Stripe's pages — this app never sees or stores them.

Troubleshooting

  • Status still says 'Finish Stripe setup' after you completed everything? Give it a moment and refresh — status syncs from Stripe in the background. If it persists, reopen onboarding; Stripe will show anything still outstanding.
  • Sent to a page saying your link expired? Just click Connect / Continue again for a fresh link.
